Veterans Day (formerly known as Armistice Day before 1954) is a federal holiday that was celebrated on November 11 each year from 1938 to 1970, and is again since 1978. With the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, Veterans Day was on the fourth Monday in October from 1971 to 1977. This year, Veterans Day will be on a Saturday.
